It is a widely known fact that Play is a critical component towards enabling the overall growth and development of a child. Given the role of ‘Play’ in the social, behavioral and cognitive development of children, it is imperative that not only the government, but the industry also assumes an active role in enabling its adoption by a larger section of the society. The recently released National Education Policy (NEP) by the Ministry of Human Resource Development has now recognized the importance of Play amongst children and the need to create a flexible, multifaceted, multilevel, play-based, activity-based, discovery-based education for children from ages 3-8 years. Toy industry plays a critical role in the growth and development of our children through cognitive and learning skills.
