FICCI is conducting Lecture for Academia on 'International Food Code: Codex Almentarius' on 16th May 2020 (Saturday), 11 AM-12.15 PM. Objective of organizing the lecture is to create awareness about the International Food Code: Codex Alimentarius Commission: Its objectives, Principles and Procedures.
The Lecture would be delivered by Senior Regulatory Specialist-Dr. Jasvir Singh-Chair, FICCI Codex Cell & Regulatory, Scientific and Government Affairs Leader, South Asia Dupont Nutrition & Biosciences.
As we do understand that Codex is a "Food Code” which is a collection of standards, guidelines and codes of practice adopted by the Codex Alimentarius Commission. The objective of the commission is towards ensuring the Consumer Health Protection and fair trade practices. It works on the core values of collaboration, inclusiveness, consensus building and transparency. Together the Codex Alimentarius and the WTO has formed a system of rules which ensure that food is safe, good quality, and can be fairly traded.
