Overview
India’s northern frontiers have become quite strategically important but pose serious challenges when it comes to man it at High Altitude Areas (HAA). The Indian Army, with its unwavering dedication and courage, undertakes the daunting task of guarding these frontiers. The Indian Army has set 2024 as the Year of Technology Absorption, a significant step towards creating a technology-enabled force and driving the vision of ‘Raksha Atamanirbharta’.
To help our defence forces access best-in-class equipment and solutions to perform at HAA and achieve the national vision of Raksha Atmanirbharata, the Indian Army and FICCI join hands in organising two focused activities called ‘HIMTECH 2024’ and ‘HIM DRONE-A-THON 2024’ at Leh, Ladakh with focus on Harnessing Military Technology for High Altitude Areas (HAA). The programme is conceptualised by the Headquarters Northern Command in an effort to reshape the annual North Tech Symposium with a new mandate for year 2024.
The programmes will see participation from high-ranking officials from all Army Commands, Air Force, ITBP & other users with similar requirements and the senior leadership from the Government of India.
HIM DRONE-A-THON 2024 : 17-18 Sep 2024 at Wari La, Leh, Ladakh
Demonstration of Capabilities of Aerial/ Ground/ Water/Underwater Drones in High Altitude Areas
Objective
• Analyse & compare the performance of various systems fielded based on demonstrated capability.
• To recommend equipment for procurement if suitable as per op requirements.
• To recommend product improvement & modifications to the participating organisations to suit ops in Northern Command.
• To access industry tech threshold/ capability and recommend broad QRs to guide future indigenisation, R&D projects and procurement cases.

An Exposition to Showcase Equipment/ Products / Solutions made to perform in High Altitude Areas.
Objective
• Evaluate the capabilities of products and solutions in enhancing the operational strength of the Indian Armed Forces and Border Guarding Forces in High Altitude Areas (HAA).
• Provide industry players with opportunities to explore B2G engagements with the Northern and Eastern Commands of the Indian Army and Border Guarding Forces.
• Offer a chance to participate in NCNC trials for shortlisted products at designated locations, contingent on product evaluation and approval.
