State Council Overview
The state has been able to attract substantial investments in sectors like, pharmaceuticals, Food Processing, Personal Care products, petro chemicals etc.
From the perspective of Tourism and Natural Flora and Fauna, Assam is Global Bio Diversity hotspot because of the presence of one-horned Indian rhinoceros, wild water buffalo, pygmy hog, tiger and various species of Asiatic birds etc. It is a most sought after destination for tourists and nature enthusiasts. The mighty Brahmaputra River that runs through the state like a spine offers plentiful opportunities for river tourists and further investments in the cruising sector.
The Assam State Council of FICCI was set up to catalyse industrial growth and development in the state by facilitating the creation of a conducive business environment. The State Council operates from the Guwahati office of FICCI which also houses the FICCI Northeast Advisory Council.
