FICCI Taskforce on Fertilisers
Fertilisers are essential to ensuring soil fertility, enhancing crop yields, and sustaining food production, thereby playing a critical role in national food security. Balanced and sustainable fertiliser application is fundamental to maintaining soil health, minimizing environmental impact, and securing long-term agricultural productivity. As India advances toward more sustainable agricultural practices, it is imperative to optimise fertiliser use, invest in research and innovation, strengthen quality control mechanisms, and reduce reliance on imports.
Recognising the significance of fertilisers in India’s agricultural growth and the need for strategic interventions to address key challenges, FICCI has established a dedicated Taskforce on Fertilisers. This Taskforce will serve as a collaborative platform for industry leaders, policymakers, and experts to drive initiatives aimed at promoting balanced fertiliser use, supporting innovation in eco-friendly and bio-fertilisers, optimising subsidy management, strengthening quality control, reducing import dependence, and improving infrastructure and supply chains to ensure timely availability across the country.
Additionally, the Taskforce will support the formulation of forward-looking policies to create an enabling environment for sustainable growth in the sector.
